Part 5 : Bermagui, Narooma, Moruya and Bateman’s Bay.

Along your journey to Sydney, it is wise to have a quick stop at the above towns which are along the Sapphire Coast. You can spend the night at either Narooma or Bateman’s Bay (the latter more popular thus more expensive) before hitting Sydney.

After Bermagui, is the town of Narooma where I stayed at the Holiday Lodge.

Narooma is a small town but it has all the essentials that a traveller needs. Plus, if you are a surfer you cannot go wrong by visiting its beach.

After a quick stop at Moruya and Bateman’s Bay, it was time to visit the metropolitan city of Sydney.

Along the way, I find it was kind of sad to leave the small towns behind, knowing what I am about to see in Sydney will not be similar to what I have witnessed among the small towns.

Next stop : Sydney.

Part 4 : Merimbula and Bega

If Eden can be considered a tranquil little town, then Merimbula is a beach town like no other. The waves crashing its shores give every visitor a sense of life albeit not in the tsunami sense. Kind of rock music meets love ballads. A good feeling of paradox.

Staying at the Merimbula Beach Holiday Park is a must as it is not only family friendly but it gives the visitor stuff to do like any beach-goer. You can surf, sun-tan or just laze around in the comfort of your homes facing the sea. Whatever you wish to do while enjoying the beach view, seemed like an entitlement of your rights. So soak in the sun and just laze around.

I know I did.

The front of the chalet allows you to park your vehicle. If you are driving a caravan or anything larger then you should opt for a different accommodation which can be found within the same premises.

From Merimbula, a half hour drive will leave you to Bega, a small town famous for its cheese.

There are many varieties of cheese available here and this quaint little town will provide you the needed stopover to enjoy your cheese while exploring its museum (they are housed within the same building). Visiting Bega is a must!

After 2 nights in Merimbula, it is time to hit Sydney……. but not before meeting Bermagui, Narooma, Moruya, and Bateman’s Bay.

Part 3: Eden.

From Lakes Entrance, you should make your way to Eden. There, you can find an interesting museum called the Eden Killer Whale museum (Entry fee will cost you AUD$7). Read the story of amazing Tom and be amazed at how he once helped the fishermen.

And if the museum does not capture your interest, then the view in Eden definitely will.

Before you hit a lookout point in Eden, stopping at Seafood Eden is a must for seafood fanatics.

From here, I decided to head to Merimbula to spend the night before heading to Bega the next day.
